If you are trying to navigate to a page in the Infor CRM web client and get a message of:
We apologize for the inconvenience, but your request cannot be completed. Service Sage.Platform.Application.IEntityContextService is not available in the current context.
Fear not, nothing is wrong with your system. It is an unhandled error that is not displaying anything meaningful. The reason for this error is because the page you are trying to access has a applied security applied to the Page definition in the Application Architect. To see this you can use the Project Explorer in Application Architect. Expand out the Portal Manager/SLXClient/Pages. With the property window open click on the page in question. The top property in the property window should show “Applied Security”.
if there is something listed there then ensure the the user trying to access the page has that secured action defined somewhere in one of the roles they are a member of.
It would be nice if that message was something a little more meaningful, but hey at least there is a solution.
