Re-register Infor CRM Xbar .DLL files.

Xbar for Infor CRM is an add-in for Microsoft Outlook that integrates Outlook with CRM.  It allows you to view some CRM data directly in Outlook, as well as allowing email to be stored within CRM records.  It is possible for the .DLL file that supports Xbar to fail, in which case the Command Prompt must be used to unregister and re-register the file with Windows, to get it working again.

The following instructions assume the file has been installed in its default location.  If the file has been installed elsewhere, it will be necessary to locate the file’s actual location and substitute that pathway for the one listed here.

All versions:

  • Sign out of and close both Outlook and CRM.
  • Open Command Prompt as Administrator.

The next steps are to unregister and re-register the Xbar .DLL file in Windows depend on the default pathway in the version of Infor CRM/SalesLogix being used. USERNAME is a stand-in for user name of the currently logged-in user.

Infor CRM 8.2 or later:

  • Run the following two commands:

regsvr /u c:\users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Infor\slxotl32.dll

regsvr c:\users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Infor\slxotl32.dll

 

Infor CRM 8.1:

  • Run the following two commands:

regsvr32 /u “C:\Users\USERNAME \AppData\Local\SalesLogix\slxotl32.dll”

regsvr32 “C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\SalesLogix\slxotl32.dll”

 

SalesLogix versions prior to 8.1:

  • Run the following two unregister commands:

regsvr32 /u “C:\Program Files\SalesLogix\SLMN.dll”

regsvr32 /u “C:\Program Files\SalesLogix\slxab32.dll”

  • Run the following two register commands:

regsvr32 “C:\Program Files\SalesLogix\SLMN.dll”

regsvr32 “C:\Program Files\SalesLogix\slxab32.dll”

 

All versions:

  • Log back in to Outlook, and verify that functionality has been restored.
