Great post Kris and a much needed topic. One other thing worth noting is that you can also add system level references, that is, references automatically added to every code snippet or business rule, by modifying the "codesnippets.xml" file. On a Win7/Vista machine you can find this at:

C:\ProgramData\Sage\Platform\Configuration\Global\codesnippets.xml

(on WinXP or 2003 you'll find this in the AddUsers profile).

Adding an assembly to the defaultReferences section will cause the reference to be used for all code snippets and business rules. This is a nice way to automatically wire up your own utility libraries to use everywhere without needing to wire it up to each one individually.

Yes, that is what I understood. It should control the Analysis View, but I did not see where it should change something or apply. As I wrote I changed the value from e.g. "Country" to "Account Manager" and after I have clicked on any hyperlink inside the table, I didn't see any change

Pipo, the drillto controls what data is displayed on the next screen (the analysis screen) when you click the hyperlink on the screen. It doesn't control anything on the current screen, only what the the next screen will display.

However I would like to ask you for explanation. In this code I do not understand what "DrillTo" should do. I have also tried to change the "DrillTo" value to nothing or something else in SLX, but I didn't see any changes in showed data. Can you make an example? Thanks.

Under the Portal Manager, under the specific page you are having the problem with, double click to open the page, when you do so if you have the properties window displaying you will see the Page Properties collection. This is where you can check the settings I mentioned.

Hi Kris, Great post. I'm also looking at deploying 7.5.2 but run into the same issue on a custom page. Can you be more specific on how to find the "Page’s Page Property collection" there are alot of properties so im a bit confused.

Good news for those who experienced this from the modification to the saleslogix.xml file for using Git Extensions for SalesLogix. I have a new build ready that no longer requires modification to the saleslogix.xml file. Just drop in a folder and it gets loaded in fine without the configuration change. The new version also includes an installer that installs via ClickOnce and the assembly is self updating as well (so your machine will get automatically updated with any new builds published on Github when you close AA).

I will publish details on this tomorrow.

Yes, as Erwin mentioned, there is what I consider a bug in the upgrade process where the saleslogix.xml file will not be updated with new modules (or updated for anything) if it has been previously modified. Since installing Git Extensions for SalesLogix requires modifying this file the SP1 to SP2 upgrade process does not touch the file and fails to add the new SP2 modules Erwin mentioned.

Uninstalling the admin tools fixed the problem for you since it dumped the saleslogix.xml file to start new again.

It is such an incredibly lame problem. I would think that, if anything, the upgrade process should just always update the saleslogix.xml file regardless of changes and you'd have to add back in whatever changes you have there. That is the worst case solution. Best case, the upgrade process would simply edit the file as XML and add the appropriate entries. It just sucks.

Anyway, a future version of Git Extensions for SalesLogix will not require adding the entry to the saleslogix.xml file, maybe I should fast track that one?

You probably have the Git Extensions for SalesLogix installed.

When you install this you have to adapt SalesLogix.xml.

And this file doesn't seem to get upgraded when you have adapted it.
