SalesLogix Attach Remote for SQL Databases

There are SalesLogix Remote user databases that apparently have a mind of their own and refuse to attach with the normal attachremote.exe.  This is when you will need to open up the attachremote.exe in the admin mode which has more options for the remote user. Use the following Run command to open in Admin mode: "c:\program Files\SalesLogix\attachremote.exe" \admin and then detach your current remote db by using the Detach button.  If you do not see the Detach and Attach buttons then attachremote is not running in Admin mode - revisit the run command.  In most cases the SA password is not required.

After Detaching your current remote db make sure the new database has been copied into the Data directory, usually "C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.1\MSSQL\Data ",  then browse to this file and run the Attach command.  That's it - you're ready to open the new db.
