We were recently asked if SalesLogix Mobile could run under SSL and the easy answer is yes. Simply check on the use SSL in the SalesLogix Mobile Platform Setup and select the correct port.  SSL provides an added layer of protection for data transmitted through http by encrypting the data.  The server certificate will determine the encryption and decipher.  The Server Gated Cryptography (SGC)-enabled SSL Certificate contains 128 bit encryption capability that allows older browsers to step up to the highet level of encryption while 256 bit encryption offers the highest level of encryption available today. SSL certificates are sold on a per server basis so if you move your web server a new certificate is in order.  If you value your data integrity and your reputation a Server Gated Cryptography enabled SSL certificate may be the right choice for you.
