Last week, I posted instructions on configuring Microsoft Hosted Exchange to be able to sync with Infor CRM SLX (here). This post is the second part that procedure, where we use the web client to configure the CRM side of things to sync with Exchange. Once the Exchange steps from the previous post have been performed, and the IDs (App ID, Directory ID, and Tennant ID) are copied someplace convenient, you are ready to set up sync in Infor CRM.
There are two bundles that need to be installed for Exchange sync to work: ICRM Exchange v1.0.3 VFX.zip , and ICRM Exchange OAuth VFS Config.zip . Install the bundles, in that order, using Application Architect. (See here for instructions for installing a bundle, if needed.) Then build and deploy. It is further recommended by Infor that the server be rebooted at that point. Once that is done, you are ready to set up the SData site for sync.

Log in to the Infor CRM SLX web client as admin, and click Integrations as the bottom of the nav bar on the left. (You can skip this part if you have already set up SData sync for some other purpose.) Click on SData Sync Configuration. You need to build the Infor CRM Feed field, but do not type directly in this field, as it tends to mess up the formatting. Instead, fill in the rest of the fields, and it should be able to build the correct SData feed based on Server, Port, and Data Portal. Verify that you have the everything correctly by clicking Test Link at the bottom.

In order to set up the link to you Exchange server, you will need to pull up those three ID values I keep nagging you about: the Directory (tenant) ID, the Application (Client) ID, and the Secret ID value; all obtained when you configured Microsoft Hosted Exchange to sync with CRM. Now, still under Intergration on the nav bar back in the Infor CRM SLX web client, click on Integrations. Select ExchangeSync (OAuth), and then enter those values as follows: the Directory (tenant) ID from your Exchange server is the Client ID in SLX, the Application (Client) ID from Exchange is the Application ID in SLX, and the Secret ID Value from Exchange is the Secret in SLX. After you have filled those in, click the Enabled check box, and save the page.

You will then need to manually add the users who will be syncing between Infor CRM SLX and their email accounts. Click the Users tab at the bottom of the screen, and click the plus sign on the right of that bar to add a user. The list of CRM users will appear. Click on one to select them, or CTRL-click to select multiple users, then click Add Selected. Keep in mind a users email address must match their email address in the Exchange server. Once users are added, click the Verify button (the box with a check over it a bit the right of the plus) to have the system verify it can connect to the Exchange mailbox. For each user, you should either get Success! or an error describing why the person’s email cannot be reached.

You will also need click the Resources tab in this same area to specify which items will be synced in which direction. These setting will be applied the same for all users. For each of Contacts, Calendar Items, and Tasks; you can set whether that items in enabled to sync, whether it syncs in only one or both directions, and how resolves resolves conflicts. For that last category, you can choose to have the most recent change be the version that is retained, or choose to have CRM or Exchange always win conflicts. (Here, Exchange is refereed to as Integration, so they can use the same language for other integrations that might exist.) There is also an Options tab that allows you to control such things has how long to keep sync history, and what file attachments to allow to be synced.

One last step to enable a user to sync: in addition to adding them list of users for the Exchange Sync, you must also give them the Infor CRM user role that gives them permission to sync. This is done the same way you would grant any role to a user. Go to the Administration section on the left of the web client, click Administration, and then choose Roles. Open the Integration role, and add any users who need to be able to sync.
