Error Bundling Lookups

There is a bug in the SalesLogix version 6 bundler that causes an error if you attempt to add a Lookup with a space in the name. When you attempt to add a Lookup to a bundle with a space in the name (such as Sales Process, etc) you’ll get a nasty error:

List Index out of bounds (-1)

The name of a lookup is something that you cannot change. It uses the table name that is the base table for the Lookup. You’ll see this problem when you add a Lookup based on a table with a space in the display name to a bundle. Fortunately, there are some ways around this:

  1. Change the table name so it uses underscores or something instead of spaces before bundling.
  2. Simply type in the Lookup name in the dialog (instead of selecting it from the list) when adding the Lookup to the bundle.

The problem is not so much that you can’t bundle the lookup – it is the dialog that you use to add the lookup to the bundle that has the problem. Doing one of the above will allow you to add it without the error.
