In Infor CRM SLX, it is simple to change the manager or similar for a single Account. As it would be fairly labor intensive to change many accounts at once, Infor has provide a way to do this for many Account at once: Realign Terrirtories. Although Infor CRM SLX has long used the term “Realign Territories” for this function, there is not a “Territory” object we are acting on. It just means we are assigning the ownership or management of a group of accounts in a single operation. It is possible to do this either in the Administrator LAN program generally installed on the server, and also in the web client.

I prefer to use the Realign Territories tool in the Administrator LAN program, mainly because I prefer its interface. In the Administrator program, go to the tools menu, and click Realign Territories. On top half of the window that opens, you choose the Accounts you will realign, either by owner, account manager, or an existing group. In the bottom half of the window, you can choose the things you want to reassign for the accounts you have selected. You can choose one or more of owner, account manager, regional manager, and divisional manager. (I don’t see many folks using those last two, but you can reassign them here if you are.) At the very bottom, you can also choose whether to include private accounts, activities, and processes.

Using the web client, the procedure is slightly different. In the list of Accounts, you choose (either by group of search) the Accounts you with to realign. The gives you the ability to realign based on criteria not available when using the Administrator LAN program, even to the point of using multiselect to construct an ad hoc groups of account you wish to realign. You then click Territory Realignment in the lower right corner. This brings up the same for things you could assign in the LAN: owner, account manager, regional manager, and divisional manager. Unlike in the LAN program, there is no option to also reassign activities, etc. Also, please note that in either version, you can assign ownership to a Team, as explained here.
