I know you’re used to Mark posting here, but I came across this document that sheds some light on an oft asked question – How many or what configuration do I need for servers based on the number of SalesLogix users we have? Sage did a thorough performance test on SalesLogix 7.5 Web, and here’s what they conculded:
“From a high level, Sage SalesLogix v7.5 is more Web server intensive than it is database server intensive. Even under heavy load the database server was never close to being “maxed out” (based on CPU and memory utilization).
Given the Web server’s hardware configuration, the Web server CPU was getting pushed very hard at 300 concurrent users. In our testing, 275 concurrent users seem to be the upper limit (per Web server) that Sage would recommend. Note that the only bottleneck at this point was the Web server CPU, so a more powerful CPU would likely enable an organization to get more than 275 users on the system.”
