Stop Timeout Request in SalesLogix

Question: I keep getting a timeout request whenever I try to do something “large” in SalesLogix, such as create 1000 MyHistory records.  How can I keep the timeout from happening?

Answer: This is a familiar issue for people who use web technologies, and you are definitely not alone.  There are many settings within IE, IIS, and ASP.NET to control timeout requests for long running transactions.  Whenever any one of these reaches its timeout limit the user gets an error message.  Luckily, if you check the httpruntime item on the Web.config you can adjust timeouts.  Before doing so, give it some thought and identify where your issues are occurring and why.
