Updated List of Which Versions of Microsoft Office Integrate with Infor CRM (Formerly Saleslogix)

Update

Seems like I just posted about this, but I have continued to run into folks who are having issues with this, and have come across some situations not covered in my previous post, so I have gone through all the data I could find about which versions of Microsoft Office are compatible with recent versions of Infor CRM (formerly Saleslogix).

Short answer: Use Microsoft Office 2013 or 2016, 32-bit version.  Do not use Home & Business edition and do not use Business Essentials (the online-only version).

Detailed Answer:  The editions of Office I see in use these days are Office 2010, 2013, 2016, and 2019.  Office 2010 was listed as being compatible as late as Infor CRM 8.3.7, but not after that.   My guess is it still works, but they decided it was old enough they would stop testing it on newer version of Infor CRM.  I can’t test it either, so you are on your own if you want to try it with more recent CRM versions.  Office 2013 and 2016 are compatible with all current versions of Infor CRM.  Office 2019 is not listed as compatible with any Infor CRM version, but I am not sure if there is some issue, or if they just haven’t tested it.

If you are just after mail sync, it does not matter if you use 32-bit or 64-bit Office.  But mail merge only works with 32-bit Office, so be sure to install 32-bit Office if you want mail merge, or are not sure.

Microsoft has be converting Office to the software-as-a-service model, where you pay a monthly or annual fee rather than purchase the software outright.  This has become an issue for Infor CRM users, as Office Home & Business edition is the only edition I can currently find that you buy outright, and that edition is not compatible with CRM.  Home & Business edition used to work well-enough with CRM, though there were often issues.  Now, I am completely unable to install integration on this version of Outlook.

Infor CRM does work with all other locally installed editions of Office (generally named some variation of Office 365).  However, Office 365 Business Essentials does not install locally, and is web only.  Infor CRM cannot integrate with this version, as there is no local software to integrate with.
