If you are upgrading a local 9.x Infor CRM SLX environment to the most recent version (currently 9.4), you will run into the step in the documentation labeled Replacing the Crystal Runtime Engine. In this step, you will need to uninstall the old Crystal runtime and then run the new Crystal runtime installer included with the upgrade files. In that section, there is a message that you will not need to replace the Crystal runtime engine if you have performed that step for an earlier upgrade. When I have run into this in the past, I have not been sure off the top of my head if I have already installed this during a previous upgrade, so I generally just put in the new runtime without checking. If I had a way to easily look up which version I needed, I could avoid the occasional unneeded reinstall.

There are two ways you can verify whether you need to install the new Crystal Reports runtime engine. The new version of the runtime was first included in Infor CRM SLX version 9.2, so if you are upgrading from 9.1 or earlier, you will definitely need to install it. If you are upgrading from version 9.2 or 9.3, you should already be on the new version.

If you wish to check the installed version of the runtime, you can look up SAP Crystal Reports runtime engine in Programs and Features in the Control Panel. The version you need is version 13.0.33.4485. If you already have that one, you are good. If, on the other hand, you are on version 13.0.14.1720 (which comes with the 9.0 install media), you will need to upgrade. On most servers I have looked at, SAP Crystal Reports is the last item in the alphabetical list of installed programs, so at least it is easy to find there.
