Which Versions of Windows Server and SQL are Compatible With Infor CRM v8.3.x and Above?

Are you looking to set up a server to run Infor CRM, but need to know which version of Windows you should use? Want to upgrade your SQL server, but want to make sure the new version will run your CRM database? If you are provisioning a server for Infor CRM, here are the versions of Windows and SQL you will need.

If you are installing the latest version of Infor CRM as of this writing, 8.4.0.3, you can use Windows Server 2012, 2012 R2, 2016, or 2019. You can use SQL versions 2012, 2012 SP2, 2014, 2014 SP1, 2016, or 2019. If you are using a slightly older version of Infor CRM 8.4.x, 8.4.0.2 or earlier does not support SQL 2019, and 8.4.0.1 or earlier does not support Windows Server 2019. Other than that, the list is the same for all versions of 8.4.x. (Note, if your database is small enough, you can also use SQL Express 2012, 2014, or 2016.)

There are still many folks using 8.3.x versions of Infor CRM. Any version of Infor CRM 8.3.x will work with Windows Server 2012 or 2012 R2; and with SQL 2012, 2012 SP2, 2014, and 2014 SP1. If you are using version 8.3.0.7 or earlier, you can also use Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 and SQL 2008 R2 SP1. (Note, you can use SQL Express 2012 or 2014 if your database is small enough. Also note, we have been able to use SQL 2016 with later versions of Infor CRM 8.3.x, but are not sure at which version is becomes officially supported. SQL 2016 does not work at all with earlier version of Infor CRM 8.3.x.)

To sum up:
