The question I received this week was in regards to Exporting records to Excel. The customer wanted to shut off this functionality, but also knew that there were many different ways to access the export function. A user is able to export to excel via the right click menu, the standard menus and by Toolbar icon. This can be very easily changed via Function Security.
Within the Saleslogix Administrator program you can edt any individual user. Within that user record, go to the Function Security Tab, you can open the File menu by double clicking, the you can highlight the Export to Excel menu item and click on the Remove Access button. You may also wish to shut off Export Group functionality.
When you choose to shut off any of these menu items, you also shut off the right click access and the icon access. It is all done for you just by shutting off the menu item itself.
