Is there a way to hide certain Accounts, Contacts, and Opportunities?

Question:
Is it possible to hide SalesLogix opportunities, activities and contacts from all users except for ADMIN and a defined team of users? We are using SalesLogix 6.2.6 client (expecting to upgrade to 7.5 later this year).

 

Answer:

There are built in mechanisms to do that. You can create a Team of users , that Team becomes the owner of the records you wanted hidden from all other users. Within that Team of users, you can also set field level security to define who can/cannot edit data. Go to the Teams area of the SalesLogix Administrator.
