I am upgrading to SalesLogix version 8.0, and I am wondering if I can still use Internet Explorer version 8 or should I also upgrade my browser?

Yes. Internet Explorer is certainly supported with SalesLogix 8.0, however, you’ll find much better performance with Firefox. Take a look at the following and see some benchmark results showing speed comparisons between Internet Explorer and Firefox when using SalesLogix.

The below statistics compare SalesLogix 8.0 Web Client
speeds for four different browsers; Internet Explorer 8, Internet Explorer 9,
Internet Explorer 10 and Firefox 17. The SalesLogix system had all currently available
updates installed; SNC Updates 2, 3, 4, 6, and 9 plus Web Core & Model
Updates 03.
Three different workstations were used for the testing to be
able to test the various browsers. The workstation configurations are varied,
but the differences don’t seem to make a big difference. For example, the, the
slowest browser (IE 8) and the fastest browser (FF 17) were both run on the
same workstation. Specifications for the workstations used are listed.
The tests were focused on switching between Group List and
Detail screens because that area shows the biggest variation. Timings were
taken after the first run through of all
procedures to avoid caching overhead
To summarize, from slowest to fastest the browsers are IE 8,
IE 9, IE 10, and FF 17. Based on the results, we should recommend that
customers use IE 10 or FF 17 (FF 10 if Desktop Integration is required), and
that they do not use IE 8.
