Exporting to Excel in Infor CRM (Saleslogix) Web Client

One of the questions we are more commonly asked is how to export Infor CRM (Saleslogix) data into a Microsoft Excel file.  This is a fairly straightforward procedure, but it works differently depending on which data you are looking to export.

If you wish to export a group of records you are viewing in the Infor CRM (Saleslogix) web client, right click the group name up on top, and choose Export to Excel.  (Or choose Export to File if you prefer a generic delimited file.)  Once the file has been generated, click on the file name to bring up the standard Windows save dialog to save the file.  This will create an Excel file of the the entire group.  Alternately, you can use ctrl-click or shift-click to highlight only certain records before you export, causing only those records to be exported.

If you instead wish to put a Report into an Excel file, there is no specific export procedure, as Reports are always generated in some file format rather than being viewed in the browser.  Generate a Report by right clicking on the Report’s name, and choosing Run Report.  After choosing all the parameters for the Report, it will ask you for the format.  Choose Excel, and the report will be generated as an Excel file (PDF is also a popular choice).  As with the export feature, the file name of the report will appear once it is generated, at which point you can click on the file name to bring up the save dialog.  Should you make some mistake and dismiss the Report without saving, never fear.  Selecting History under Reports will bring up a list of the recent Reports that have been run, and you can click on any of these to save the file as well.
