Prevent Infor CRM (Saleslogix) Test Environment from Attempting to Sync to Production Clients

When establishing a test environment for Infor CRM (Saleslogix), it is common to copy the production database to a test server.  If synchronization is used in the production environment, steps need to be taken to make sure the test server does not try to write sync files to the same folder the production server is using.

In the Administrator program, you need to make sure the logging and library paths are pointing where you want them.  Click Systems on the left, and check the SyncServer and Offices tabs.  On each of these tabs, check each item and look at the Shared Paths.  Make sure these aren’t pointing to the same folders you are using for production.

There are also sync setting stored in the database, these can be cleared by running the following SQL queries:

UPDATE sysdba.BRANCHOPTIONS SET SITECODE = 'NOSYNCSERVER' WHERE SITECODE = (SELECT PRIMARYSERVER FROM sysdba.SYSTEMINFO WHERE DBTYPE = 1)
go

UPDATE sysdba.SITEOPTIONS SET HOSTSERVER = 'NOSYNCSERVER' WHERE HOSTSERVER = (SELECT PRIMARYSERVER FROM sysdba.SYSTEMINFO WHERE DBTYPE = 1)
go

UPDATE sysdba.SYSTEMINFO SET PRIMARYSERVER = 'NOSYNCSERVER' WHERE SYSTEMINFOID = 'PRIMARY'
go

These two steps should get rid of any references to the production synchronization folders, and prevent any items from the test environment being synchronized to production clients.
