SalesLogix 7.5x SLXIntellisync Deployment for the LAN

With the revision of Intellisync in version 7.5 the new requirement is a deployment of the SLXIntellisync portal. What you will need to do is go through all of the same steps you would take to deploy the slxclient. On your web server add the Webdll user to the local administrators group, the IIS_WPG or (IIS_IUSRS in Windows Server 2008. Open the Local Security Policy User Rights Assignment and give Webdll access to “Allow Log on Locally”, “Act as part of the Operating System”, and “Access this computer from the Network.
On Windows 2008 Servers running IIS 7 make sure it is running In IIS 6 compatibility mode.
When installing the required Admin Tools check on create SalesLogix web site and set webbdll as the user with the proper database alias.
After you have the SalesLogix web site up and running check the SalesLogix Application Pool and set it to run in 32 bit mode on Windows 2008 64 bit systems. Set the Application Pool user to the Webdll user.
Now open the Application Architect run a complete rebuild and deploy the SLX Intellisync portal only, making sure to use SalesLogix as the Application Pool, set the port to match the SalesLogix web site port, and set the Inherit from Core Portal to SalesLogix and the correct port number. Aftter all this you are finally ready to deploy. Once completed you can ask your users to go to the web site and download the install file. If you are having trouble with logging into set up your application you will most likely need to check all of the site and application credentials.
