Setting up sync in Infor CRM (Saleslogix)

If you want to synchronize Infor CRM (Saleslogix) with Outlook, you must install Xbar as an Outlook add in.  It works with any locally installed version of Outlook 2010 or newer.  This includes Office 365 Outlook, but not the web-based version of Outlook.

With Outlook closed, install the Xbar program.  When you next open Outlook, it will ask for connection information.  If you use Windows Authentication to log in to CRM, check that box.  If not, enter the username and password you use to log in to Infor CRM.  For the Client URL, put the URL you use to access the web client, including the http:// .  It will likely be http://servername/slxclient or similar for an internal address, or something like http://webaddress.com/slxclient for a web address.  For the Service URL, use the address of the SData portal.   This is usually the same as the client address, but ending with /sdata in place of /slxclient.

Client-side, that’s all there is to setting up the sync connection.  See my earlier blog post for sync options here.
