Why can’t I attach large Files in my SalesLogix Attachment folder?

Question:
I am using the Saleslogix Web Client and I am unable to attach large files. Are there any settings that I can change???

Answer:
By default, the maximum file size that can be uploaded is 4 MB. There is also a 90 seconds upload timeout setting that will indirectly limit the size file that can be uploaded, depending on the speed of your Internet connection. Both of those settings can be modified, but keep in mind that because uploads and downloads are at Internet speeds, from a usability standpoint setting the limits too high is not practical.

The settings are located in the Web.Config file, which can be modified using Application Architect. Via “Project Explorer”, go to “Portal Manager>Sage SalesLogix>Support Files” and open “Web.Config”. Search for “httpRuntime” and on that line change executionTimeout and maxRequestLength to the limits you want. (Timeout is in seconds and Length is in Kilobytes.)

Once you have made your changes, save the file, redeploy the SlxClient web site, and perform an IISRESET. (Users should be off the system during the redeploy and IISRESET.)
