I’m always on the lookout for the latest gadget and this one is truly fantastic.
We got rid of our land line at home and just use cell phones which is great but you have to have your phone near you or on you which is a pain, someone is always streaking through the house to find the ringing phone. We used to have a phone in every room so it was never too far to get to one. The solution is – the Xlink which is a little black box that plugs into any phone jack in your house and using Bluetooth, all of your old house phones and cordless phones come back to life. The Xlink acts as a bridge between up to three cell phones and your house wiring so your cell calls ring all of your house phones and you can place a call from any house phone. The process is completely seamless and you really cannot tell you are not on a land line. There is even a fake dial tone when you place a call. If you have two or three cell phones paired to the device you get a distinct ring pattern depending on which phone is ringing. You can even select which cell phone an outgoing call is placed on. You also get Caller ID on your house phones if they support that feature. As soon as any of the cell phones are back within range of the device (about 30 feet) they automatically connect back up.
