InforCRM 8.1 (formerly SalesLogix) SpeedSearch Repair

If the Speedsearch Server is returning an error “Unable to locate the SpeedSearch Directory” and the path the system returns is \server\SaleslogixSpeedsearch the only solution is to reinstall the SpeedSearch Server.
Here are the steps to correct this issue. First, uninstall the SpeedSearch server by removing it from the Admin tools and servers. Secondly, purge the Registry of all the SpeedSearch references. Next, reinstall the SpeedSearch Server
as an administrator, reboot the server, and restart the SpeedSearch Service. Unfortunately I have had to use this fix more then once but it has worked every time.
