What are the options for SalesLogix Administrators who need to move files to the Amazon Cloud SalesLogix Image?
If your files are small drop.io is a simple reasonable solution. For those of who like RDP simply share the HD’s on your system and RDP into the SLX Cloud instance where you can drag and drop the files to the correct folders. Using your own ftp site is another way to upload larger files and also allows you to control security.
The option I like is Amazon S3. To use Amazon S3 you must sign up for an account. With S3 you can use your existing Amazon Management console and upload files to Buckets that are visible on any Cloud instance with a S3 browser. Not only can you password protect you browser but the your S3 account is protected with proprietary AWS security. Once your files are in an S3 bucket downloading to an Amazon instance is much quicker then your typical ftp. The advantages are too numerous to list here but this is the one solution that works for administrators and developers alike.
