The Change Log for Creatio addon in the Creatio Marketplace allows you to set up logging for columns of any object in Creatio and view the change log on the record it was for. This works a little differently than the out of the box logging since it will display on a tab on the record the changes were for. In this article I will show a bit about how this addon works.
First thing you’re going to want to do is set up your permissions just incase there are only certain people you want to be able to access the setup screen for defining objects and columns to track. By default system administrator’s already have access to read/edit/delete so you only need to do this if you want to add other people that can setup what columns are being tracked.
Next you’ll want to setup what objects and columns are being tracked you do this by clicking the link called “Logging” shown in the picture below and here is where we’ll pick our object and columns we want to track.
After you click logging click the green button “New Scheme” and then select your object and then select your columns. For example, I picked Account and then chose primary phone and type for my columns and now I’m tracking the changes in those columns.
At this point it’ll be tracking changes to those columns. All you’ll need to do is make a change to the column and you’ll see the changes on your logging tab (this tab will only show up on the sections that you selected to track objects for).
This addon gives you an optional feature that allows you to clean up the logs by deleting old entries. You don’t have to do this but if you do want to you’ll go to the loggings page and click the actions button and under there it will say “Clear log“.
When you select clear log it will let you pick a date range and it’ll delete all the logs in that range.
